To help reduce vehicle crime and prevent issues such as cloned registrations, fuel theft, and fraudulent vehicle activity, the DVLA introduced regulations restricting the manufacture of number plates to authorised suppliers.
As a registered DVLA number plate supplier, Quick Plates is legally required to verify both your identity and your entitlement to use the registration being supplied.
While we understand that providing documents can sometimes feel inconvenient, we aim to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible.
Verifying your identity and entitlement is a legal requirement and helps ensure number plates are supplied responsibly.
Proof of Identity
To confirm your identity, we require one of the following documents:
- Driving licence
- Utility bill dated within the last 6 months
- Council tax statement dated within the last 6 months
- Bank or building society statement dated within the last 6 months
- National identity card
Proof of Entitlement
To confirm that you are legally entitled to use the registration number, we require one of the following documents:
- Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C or V5CNI)
- New Keeper Supplement (V5C/2 or V5C/2NI)
- Certificate of Entitlement (V750 or V750NI)
- Retention Document (V778)
- Vehicle Tax or SORN Reminder (V11 or V11NI)
- Temporary Registration Certificate (V379 or V379NI)
- Number Plate Authorisation Certificate (V948) with an official DVLA or DVSA stamp
- Electronic Number Plate Authorisation Certificate (eV948)
Please note: As a registered and legal number plate supplier, we cannot manufacture or dispatch your plates until the required documents have been received and verified.
